Course Description:
This course offers a survey of security and privacy issues in Cloud Computing systems along with an overview of current best practices and available technologies. Threat model as well as practical applications of secure Cloud Computing are explored. Team project is a key part of this course. Each project will demonstrate a salient application of interest to students.
Objective: The course will provide skills to explore security in cloud computing.
The course will offer skills to (a) understand security concerns, and (b) possible methods to secure cloud based systems.
Course administration and grading. The course will be run as a seminar style class with review and discussion of several contemporary published work (10 points each = 50), participation (10 points), and one team project (40 points).
