Latency Simulation

Our senior project was was to create a GUI software executable for Boeing that simulates high latency on a network. It will act as a hop on a network and will be used in test environments to simulate the effects of latency on a network and application permormance.

Importance of Latency Simulators

Latency: any of severl kinds of delays typically incurred in processing of network data; delay in information being sent/received.

It is used to help determine responsiveness of network applications.

Future Development

Our program could be developmed to include:
bandwidth limiting, jitter manipulation, and dynamic latency calibration (maintain a fixed latency).
